CATAGEN Places Number 1 in BusinessCloud’s EnviroTech 50 for 2025.
EnviroTech 50 is an annual ranking by BusinessCloud, a leading UK-based news and media company focused on the technology sector.
The EnviroTech 50 ranking is seen as a validator of technology disruptors, highlighting
the UK’s most innovative companies developing cutting-edge green technologies—startups, scaleups, and established leaders shaping the future of sustainability. This year’s shortlist was 135-strong of Cleantech and Greentech companies working to protect the environment and leverage green energy.
The ranking is determined by a public vote, along with an expert judging panel, consisting of Lubomila Jordanova, co-founder of GreenTech Alliance; David Pugh, VP of sustainable innovation at Cambridge Consultants; Sammy Fry, head of climate at Tech Nation; and Sara Boswell, director of the University of Salford’s Centre for Sustainable Innovation.
“This year’s EnviroTech 50 recognises companies blazing a trail in emissions – from electric vehicle networks to decarbonising heavy industry – as well as renewable energy innovators, recycling tech firms, those focused on ESG reporting and more,” said Jonathan Symcox, editor of BusinessCloud.
CATAGEN was awarded the top spot on this list of innovative technologies, thanks to CATAGEN’s patented OMEGA reactor and the ClimaHtech system of advanced climate technologies.
CATAGEN’s mission is to clean and decarbonise the air. We are a pioneering green emissions testing facility based in Belfast providing unrivalled metrics to optimise catalyst development and reduce harmful tailpipe emissions. CATAGEN’s world-first technology has already transformed emissions testing in the mobility sector and is now powering the energy transition through our ClimaHtech platform, producing biohydrogen, e-fuel, and enabling hydrogen compression for hard-to-abate sectors.
Dr. Andrew Woods, CATAGEN CEO and Co-Founder said;
“Being ranked number ONE in the EnviroTech 50 is a strong endorsement of the innovation and impact of CATAGEN’s disruptive NET ZERO Technologies. It reflects our team’s commitment to engineering scalable, energy efficient solutions that will drive a net zero future.
