ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Calvin Thompson, Senior Software Developer at CATAGEN.
My role at CATAGEN is quite varied, my day could be full of developing new software for our reactors or being inside the machine and wiring new instrumentation or helping someone connect their Bluetooth mouse to their laptop.
What is your favourite thing about working at CATAGEN?
Being so involved in a project is honestly a great feeling, you’re not just a number at Catagen, you are genuinely needed for your skillset and being able to apply that skillset and see the effects of your own abilities is a great feeling.
Which of the benefits that CATAGEN offer are your favourite?
The private healthcare is very useful, especially with the online GP service, its very easy to get an appointment.

What was the last programme/ box set you watched on TV?
The Mandalorian Season 3
Do you have any favourite books, movies, or travel destinations you’d like to recommend?
The Lord of The Rings trilogy of books and the movies are 10/10 and couldn’t recommend enough, I’m just back from Budapest and would highly recommend it!
Can you provide words of wisdom to any new employees that have started?
Don’t get frustrated if you feel you don’t know everything about the company instantly! We do so much and are on the cutting edge of science with the technology we make and after 5 years of working here I certainly don’t know everything just yet but it keeps things interesting!
