FUEL OF THE FUTURE
Energy efficient production of green hydrogen is a key challenge for the H2 economy. It is judged that development of hydrogen-fuelled transport could be integral to achieving full transport decarbonisation.
Green Hydrogen produced from 100% renewable energy produces zero carbon emissions and is suitable for transport such as heavy duty vehicles, off-road vehicles, marine and aviation.
The novel CATAGEN Thermocyclic Hydrogen Generator has the potential to produce Green H2 for £2/kg [30 % reduction compared to electrolysis – currently about £3/kg].
In addition, the proposed solution has an estimated CO2 savings of 2.8kgCO2/kg of H2 during production and lifecycle saving of 4.7kgCO2/kg compared to electrolysis.
CATAGEN’s solution is also more tolerant to wind turbine connection with lower infrastructure costs.
E-FUEL HYDROGEN CARRIER
CATAGEN is developing a process for new liquid e-fuel production using its energy efficient patented OMEGA reactor. This is a new approach to developing a proprietary method to create an affordable hydrogen fuel carrier that uses the energy from a wind turbine. Hydrogen is difficult to transport so our e-fuel carrier makes it easier to transport and store. A potential huge market to replace diesel (4.5 billion litres per day).
